The Fall is a masterpiece. Filmmaker Tarsem spent his savings on his dream vision, which he filmed over four years in 24 different countries. Yes, the movie is a visual marvel unlike any other, a mammoth testament to the human imagination, but it also packs an emotional wallop behind those beautiful, beautiful images. Sadly, for too long the movie was unavailable on home video or streaming.

She probably should’ve been for directing the uncompromisingly grueling By the Sea, but hopefully, she continues to receive more accolades for her performance as singer Maria Callas in Pablo Larraín’s biopic. The festival buzz has been strong for the film, which is unsurprising given Larraín’s talents for making biopics more personal and subjective than just another set of cliff notes adapted for the big screen.

After directing the best episodes of Wednesday, director Tim Burton is returning to the director’s chair for Wednesday season two. Filming recently wrapped in Ireland. The next season of the Jenna Ortega-led series reportedly leans more on horror, less on YA romance and shenanigans.

“Coming of age story, crime drama, sprinkle of hip-hopera, and a dash of horror” all come together in The Chinatown Diner. ounds like a fine recipe for a compelling independent film, which is co-written, co-edited, and directed by Lawrence Le Lam. He’s assembled quite a snazzy cast for the film, including Alien: Romulus standout, Aileen Wu, and one of the powerhouse actors from Warrior, Olivia Cheng.

Christmas just ain’t Christmas without John Waters. The beloved author, filmmaker, and performance artist is hitting the road again for his annual holiday show, “A John Waters Christmas.” Expect further coverage of the must-witness event at Immersive Media.

The filmmaker behind Cry Baby, Hairspray, and Polyester is a true showman, on and off-screen. To add more holiday cheer to the year, Waters is also releasing a vinyl for his cover of The Singing Dogs’ “Jingle Bells.”
