The Michael Mann Archives is officially online. The new website is a vast home of knowledge for any Michael Mann fans. Available in the US, UK, EU, and Canada, the site offers subscribers annotated script pages, storyboards, audio, and more exclusive behind-the-scenes tales from the filmmaker’s archives.
Mann, of course, is the legendary filmmaker behind Collateral, Heat, and Thief.
The director’s last movie, Ferrari, sadly didn’t connect with audiences in theaters. However, it’s an exhilarating drama about the dangers and horrors of passion and loss. Just a thrilling theatrical experience that Mann now thoroughly dives into on his website.
Right now, it’s the film subscribers will get to study through behind-the-scenes content. “Access holders will be immersed into early character formation and rehearsals, 20 mini documentary videos, art department and cinematic strategies to achieve Ferrari’s dramatic impact, script pages annotated with directions, the design and engineering of replica racecars, camera systems and much more,” according to the Michael Mann Archives intro.
The subscription is $65, which is a little steep for aspiring filmmakers, but for hardcore Mann fans, worth it from the sound of it.
