Arianne Phillips is, without question, a creative visionary. She’s the costume designer behind — cue prestigious drum roll — A Single Man, The Crow, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood…, and Walk the Line. She’s helped create iconic characters. To celebrate her career, including this year‘s A Complete Unknown and Joker: Folie à Deux, The Newport Beach Festival and Fashion Island are honoring her with The Creative Visionary Award.
Aubrey Plaza will present the award to Phillips at Fashion Island’s 13th Annual StyleWeekOC on October 19th. “I’m so thankful to the Newport Beach Film Festival and Fashion Island for this wonderful honor and for acknowledging the art of costume design and our contribution to filmmaking,” Phillips said in a statement. “I am especially grateful to be recognized for my work this year on ‘Joker: Folie á Deux’ and ‘A Complete Unknown.’ I’m humbled to be included alongside such exciting talent at the festival this year.”
