Havoc shot (Credit: Gareth Evans)

It’s been too long since the last Gareth Evans‘ action film. The director behind The Raid films, however, has been working on a new action movie, Havoc, for many years now. Back in 2022, Evans even shared an update to clear up any confusion about the state of the project, which originally started in shooting 2021. The director confirmed he needed to do reshoots, and now, they’ve finally begun.

In a new Instagram post celebrating additional photograph, Evans expressed his excitement:

And we’re back!

Contrary to rumours over the last 2 and a half years – today actually marks the first day of additional photography to finally complete HAVOC.

It’s been a long old road filled with scheduling issues, strikes and more scheduling issues while we’ve worked to get the band back together.

But here we are and away we go.

Massive thanks to crew and cast, old and new. Massive thanks also to @netflix for their unwavering commitment and support to this project.

According to the original synopsis, Havoc is about a detective (Tom Hardy) fighting “his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while untangling his city’s dark web of conspiracy and corruption.” The movie co-stars Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán, and Xelia Mendes-Jones. No word on a release date yet for the Netflix film.
