Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann continues to explore Elvis Presley‘s past and legacy. Following the commercial and critical success of Elvis, the director is now hinting at a future Elvis concert film. Luhrmann previously shared that “reels and reels of never-before-seen footage of Elvis on Tour and That’s The Way It Is” were discovered.

During the Met Gala, The Hollywood Reporter asked about Luhrmann’s plans for the footage. “The fans are eager to know if all that footage we found in the vaults will become a concert film,” Baz responded, “and I’m here to say I think it’s gonna happen.”

Baz is also producing a stage musical adaptation of his beloved film and is still considering working on a potential extended cut in the future. The director has a four-hour cut of his epic, star-making hit. Baz is always ambitious, so an additional trio of Elvis projects is par for the course for his imagination.
