Now, the stage adaptation, the Death Becomes Her musical, might become one of more creatively successful film adaptations in recent memory to come to Broadway. Previews for the show, which just announced its Broadway cast, begin Wednesday, October 23, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
The Death Becomes Her musical recently visited Chicago, Illinois. Both critics and audiences were fans. Attendees we spoke to said the musical was pure campy charm, highlighting Michelle Williams‘ performance. Williams will reprise her role on Broadway.
Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, and Christopher Sieber star in the Death Becomes Her musical. The full cast was just officially announced for the production, which features a book from Marco Pennette, songs by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey, and choreography and direction from Christopher Gattelli.
As for the crew, Derek McLane is behind scene design, costumes come courtesy of Paul Tazewell, Justin Townsend handles lighting design, and Mary-Mitchell Campbell is the music supervisor. As for the production stage manager, Rachel Sterner holds down the fort for the promising Broadway musical.
